‘Europe from the water": CEWE and Locaboat Holidays photo competition ends with great success

Photographically off to new shores: The ten best images from the ‘Europe from the water’ photo competition, which was held between April and October 2023 by photo service provider CEWE in cooperation with Europe's leading provider of houseboat holidays, Locaboat Holidays, have been chosen.

The winning photo ‘Kinderdijk’ by Lars Oliver Michaelis shows the windmills of the small town of the same name, south-east of Rotterdam, with the perspective giving the viewer the feeling of being right there. Second place went to Farhad Babayev's photograph ‘Lago di Garda’, which depicts an evening scene on Lake Garda in Italy, with visitors enjoying the evening on the shore and dangling their legs in the lake. Werner Groß came third with his picture ‘The House and the Rock’, taken in Brittany. The competition, to which 1,791 pictures were submitted, centred on a change of perspective: not only the view of canals, seas and lakes, but also from the water on shore regions, islands, mainland and beaches offers wonderful picture motifs.

The submitted photos were assessed and selected by a four-member jury consisting of Yvonne Schön, Marketing and Sales Manager at Locaboat Holidays, Mathias Christmann, Senior PR Manager at the supervising PR agency Lieb Management, Thomas Tausendfreude, Head of Content Marketing at CEWE and Markus Kujawa, Head of CEWE Photo Studios. The main winner can look forward to a travel voucher worth 2,000 euros for a houseboat holiday with Locaboat Holidays. The winners of places two to ten will also receive prizes from CEWE and Locaboat. They will receive a 750-euro voucher for CEWE photo products, a 400-euro voucher for a Locaboat holiday and 50-euro vouchers for CEWE PHOTOBOOK copies.
